Level 1 of this course was created for complete beginners or pianists who would like to refresh their knowledge and skills. I created this course to offer an alternative to apps and book only learning which provide no feedback or real explanation of concepts. Level 1 will take you from your very first notes on the piano to playing shorter pieces hands together in C major with basic rhythms and expression. It’s roughly equivalent to PREP exam level. The course follows a classical path with added pop elements to enable you to play a wide range of musical styles. Each lesson introduces a new concept that is reinforced by performance pieces, technical exercises and sight-reading.
Every lesson in this course is filmed, including the concept lessons, exercises and the detailed tutorials for all pieces. The course is accompanied by a method book that can be purchased here in eBook and Print format.
The method book was not designed to be used on its own. To enjoy the full benefits of this course, use the book alongside the accompanying videos.
Please note, the “Premium” version of this course with personal feedback is no longer available since all videos are now accessible in the free course too. If you’d like personal feedback on your progress, you can book an online piano lesson with Stefan Wyatt.
