Beginner Piano Course for Solo Learners – Level 4

This is the Level 4 lesson book in the Beginner Piano Course for Solo Learners. It is advised to complete Level 1, 2 & 3 first, but you can start here too if you are not a complete beginner.

Each new concept introduced in the book is reinforced by technical exercises and performance pieces. Level 4 focuses on voicing/finger independence through a variety of repertoire from the Baroque era all the way to the 21st century. It introduces nine new keys with up to four sharps/flats, thirty-second notes (demisemiquavers), tuplets and polyrhythms. The pieces offer not just technical challenges but ample opportunity for artistic expression and performance.

This course was designed for adult beginners learning without a teaching, but it could be used by anyone above the age of 12. The method book was not intended to be used on its own, it was conceived as part of a complete course that includes video lessons and supplementary materials. Therefore, in order to benefit from the full learning experience, you are encouraged to watch all the accompanying video lessons before playing the pieces in this book.
